Kim Young Soon
After years of imprisonment Kim managed to escape North-Korea in 2005. Because of Kim’s “crime” her entire family of seven were sent to Yodok. Kim explains in detail how her family was imprisoned and treated in Yodok. Her son and parents died. Kim was friends the wife of North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong Il. She believes their close affiliation resulted in her imprisonment. “I might have said too much about her and her marriage, but any mention of Kim Jong Il’s family is a crime.
