Kim Tae Jin

Kim worked in a factory manufacturing leather products, fled in 1986, was returned to North Korea in 1987 and ended up in Yodok. Rigorously he speaks of life in the prison camp. Visiting the border between South and North he says: “I just want to run from here as fast as possible, it hurts too much. I don’t know how anybody can watch a place of such cruelty without feeling sorrow.”

Kim Tae Jin - prisoner in Yodok 1987-1992, fled to South Korea in 1992
